Safe arrival in Beijing, the capital and political & cultural center of China. Your Easy Tour China professional local English tour guide and driver will meet you at the airport with a sign bearing your name and assist you in carrying your luggage to your private vehicle.
Check into your hotel, enjoy some free time to allow your parents to adjust to the time difference and relieve the fatigue from the long flight. If time permits and you are willing, you can take a leisurely walk near the hotel to experience the rhythm of Beijing.

After breakfast, drive to reach Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. This is also the political and historical center of China. Accompanied by our private guide, you then enter the Forbidden City to have an in-depth tour of this imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, including the Treasure Hall and the Imperial Garden, etc. You can not only learn about the Chinese imperial power culture and the tumultuous history of China for 600 years, but also understand the essence of traditional Chinese wooden architecture.
In the afternoon, we walked into the hutong area. These winding alleys are the essence of old Beijing. Taking a traditional human-powered tricycle, your elderly parents can easily crossed through one after another of the hutongs, lined with quadrangle dwellings (Siheyuan), which were left over from the Yuan Dynasty. We arranged for you to visit a local family. Chat with local Beijingers, especially the seniors, and learn more local historical stories and firsthand experiences of the daily life of Beijingers.

Both Tiananmen and Forbidden City require long walking. Wheelchair rent and wheelchair assistance can be arranged to ensure a comfortable experience for the elderly.

No China tour is complete without a visit to the Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall features beautiful scenery and few visitors, thus perfect for families with elderly members. Taking the cable car to ascend and descend the mountain can help the elderly parents save energy and time. Take a brisk walk along the Great Wall of China, you can learn about the story behind this military wonder, about the wars it witnessed, and interesting facts. And you can also enjoy the magnificent mountain views in northern China.
In the afternoon, return to the city center and visit the 798 Art District. This area was transformed from old industrial buildings and now is full of the vitality of contemporary Chinese culture. Enjoyably appreciate modern art, photography exhibitions and creative designs.

Although you don’t go to Chengdu, the hometown of giant pandas this time, during your Beijing trip, you could still have a close encounter with the cute pandas at the giant Panda House of Beijing Zoo.
Then head to two of Beijing's most famous temples. Lhama Temple is a sacred place of Tibetan Buddhism. Family members can pray for the well-being and good health of the elderly here. We specially arranged a delicate Chinese vegetarian lunch for your family - light and healthy, good for the elders' weaker stomachs.
Temple of Heaven was the ancient royal place for sacrificing to heaven. Wander through the architectural wonders of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest and the Echo Wall, while observing (and even joining) local elders doing morning exercises, playing chess, and performing operas, experiencing the authentic Beijing slow life.

Depart from Beijing and take the high-speed rail in China (business class / first class / second class available for selection), traveling comfortably to Shanghai (about 4.5 hours). Along the way, you can enjoy the landscapes of China's cities and countryside, and also interact with the Chinese people on the train.
After arriving in Shanghai, your Easy Tour China Shanghai guide and driver will come to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon, take an easy walking tour of the Bund. Walk along the Huangpu River bank, learn about Shanghai's modern history, and enjoy the interesting contrast between the collection of colonial buildings and the modern skyline of Shanghai Pudong (including iconic buildings such as the Oriental Pearl Tower). As night falls, board the Huangpu River cruise ship and enjoy the dazzling night view of Shanghai in a relaxed and comfortable manner.

Both the young children and the elderly parents will love Yuyuan Garden - a representative work of private classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. Walk through the pavilions and towers. Once you get out of the garden, you will arrive at the Town God Temple and the old town of Shanghai, allowing you to experience the traditional urban atmosphere.
Have a lunch of exquisite Shanghai dim sum, which is light and easy to digest. Later, visit the historical area of the Shanghai Former French Concession - a boulevard lined with European-style buildings. Then have a short rest in People's Park, glimpsing into the leisure life of the Shanghainese.
In the evening, ascend to the observation floor of Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China, and overlook the panoramic view of Shanghai City.
